The Sublime Power Of The Path is the debut album by Sublimis Amoris. It is an instrumental project with sixteen songs that vary from the classical sound to a more contemporary tone, it might also be easy to let these compositions fall into the New Age category, but rather than trying to pigeon hole the music why not just appreciate it for its beauty?
The piano and flute are prevalent on most all of the tracks as well as violin. The compositions flow freely. Each track seems to lead into the next without blending, but really does give the album a more classical tone. These songs belong together.
The music is light and airy. Songs like "Like Wine In My Soul" seem to be the melody of a crisp warm spring day. "Love Is The Wind (And The Wind Is The Rope We Tie Ourselves)" is another track that has seems to draw its melody from nature.
The songs all seem to be appropriately titled. "Sailing The Gentle Breeze" gives the listener the mental image of just that.
"Butterfly" has a melody just like the insect. It seems to flit and bounce about. The sounds are sweet, gentle and somewhat fragile.
"Do Not Let Time Slip Through Your Fingers Fast and Painless" is a soothing melody. Perhaps too soothing, as you may let time slip through your fingers as you listen.
You know that the composer has done his job well, when his music can affect more than one of the senses. The songs of The Sublime Power Of The Path do just that; the music seems to open your eyes as well as providing a calming feast for the ears.
"The Same Old Path" evokes familiarity and comfort in its melody, while "Oamok (Love Theme)" offers the listener a little something romantic. "Oamok" seems to call out for closeness.
Whichever song you choose to listen to from The Sublime Power of The Path will find a way to touch your spirit. Probably the most so, is the title track. It is a lengthy six and a quarter minutes long, but in that time you'll feel your troubles melt away.
Perhaps if you tried to give this music its own genre it would be classical moodscapes.
The sixteen songs found here offer listening enjoyment as well as a way to detoxify your mind from day to day stresses. This is music for the mind, the heart and the soul. Some may try to pass it off as background music, but that would be wrong. Yes, it can simply be background music if you let it be, but if you open your ears you'll hear so much more and it will be worth every minute.
